  • Valide Sultan Bridge which is still in use today and after which the district was named is considered an important structure of the Ottoman Era in Karamürsel. It is located on the road which passes over Karamürsel to the south and goes through Karaahmetli, Hayriye and Yalakdere villages and leads to İznik. While its builder in the 17th century is not precisely jnown, it is rumored that its construction was order by Kösem Sultan, Turhan Sultan or Emetullah Sultan. The bridge has three niches, sharp arches and surrounding parapets on both sides. It was built from face stones in the classical Turkish architectural style. It is 64 meters long and its paving width is 450 meters.
